Donate to an NGO in Cameroon
A bursary, a set of school books, a rehabilitated water point, a woman's first stock purchase. Small amounts, applied deliberately, change what is possible for a household.

Where your money goes
Donations are applied across the seven programme pillars according to need, with a proportion supporting the staffing, administration, monitoring and evaluation without which programmes cannot be delivered or verified.
We state that plainly because organisations claiming that every donation goes 'directly to the field' are generally either misrepresenting their costs or having them funded by someone else. A bursary programme needs someone to select recipients, verify enrolment and follow up when a girl stops attending. That work is part of the programme, not a deduction from it.
Our published budget
The Foundation's indicative three-year budget is published in full on our Fact Sheet, broken down by thematic area and including staffing, administration, MEAL and communications as separate lines. You can see the proportions before you give.
Restricted gifts
You may restrict a gift to a specific programme — girls' education, WASH, GBV response — and we will track it separately and apply it only to that purpose. If a restricted purpose becomes over-funded or impossible, we contact you to agree a reallocation. If we cannot reach you after reasonable attempts, the funds are applied to the closest available purpose and the decision is recorded. This is the same rule as in our donation and refund policy.
How your donation is protected
- All funds are held in a bank or mobile money account in the Foundation's name. No individual receives donations personally on our behalf.
- Financial authority and programme authority are held separately, so no single person both commits and approves expenditure.
- Expenditure above defined thresholds requires two authorised signatories.
- Annual reports and audited financial statements will be published once available; none have been published yet.
- We never charge any person for access to our assistance, for selection into a programme, or to apply for a role.
- Donor personal data is never sold or shared for marketing, and you may ask to be acknowledged anonymously.
- Donations made in error can be refunded within 30 days.
Frequently asked questions
Can I give from outside Cameroon?
Yes. International bank transfer will be available once the Foundation's account details are published on this page, and our Vice-President maintains an international line on +1 (380) 284-9387 for diaspora and overseas supporters. Contact us and we will confirm the most reliable route for your country and arrange written acknowledgement.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Women's Light Foundation is a Cameroonian association, and donations are not currently eligible for tax relief in other jurisdictions. Donors requiring tax-deductible giving should contact us, as we can sometimes route a gift through an international partner organisation that holds the relevant status.
How do I know my donation reached the Foundation?
Every donation is recorded on receipt, and donors who provide contact details receive acknowledgement. If you do not receive confirmation within a few days, contact us at contact@womenslight.org with the transaction reference and we will trace it.
Can I give regularly rather than once?
Yes, and regular giving is considerably more useful to us than the same amount given once, because it allows us to commit to a girl's school fees for a full year rather than a single term. Recurring arrangements can be set up by contacting us, and cancelled at any time.
Someone asked me to send money to a personal account in your name. Is that legitimate?
No. That is fraud. Women's Light Foundation never requests donations to a personal account, and never charges anyone to apply for a job, to volunteer, or to receive assistance. Please report any such request to contact@womenslight.org so we can act on it.
Can I choose which programme my gift supports?
Yes. Tell us when you give and we will restrict the gift to that programme, track it separately and apply it only to that purpose. If you have no preference, unrestricted giving is the most useful, because it lets us direct funds to whichever pillar has the most urgent gap.
