Our Partners

The organisations and institutions we work alongside, and the partnerships we are actively building.

Women's Light Foundation works through partnership by design. Our organisational framework commits us to MOU-based relationships with government ministries, district hospitals, schools and local civil society, and to consortium-building with peer organisations to access opportunities none of us could carry alone.

Current engagement

In September 2026 the Foundation was invited by UNFPA to discuss possible collaboration and the use of the Women's Light platform to extend support to more women and girls across Cameroon. This was an exploratory discussion: no partnership or funding agreement has been concluded.

Our first skills workshop was hosted by a local Youth Centre, which provided the hall and chairs free of charge — a practical, unglamorous partnership of exactly the kind that makes grassroots delivery possible.

Partnerships we are building

Our fundraising and partnership strategy identifies the following as priorities, and we are working towards each:

  • Cameroonian government bodies — the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family (MINPROFF), the Ministry of Social Affairs (MINAS) and the Ministry of the Environment.
  • UN agencies — UNHCR, UNICEF, UN Women, UNFPA, WFP and UNDP, as implementing partner and sub-grantee.
  • International NGOs — including IRC, CARE International, Plan International Cameroon, World Vision, Action Against Hunger and Save the Children.
  • District hospitals and health facilities, to build functioning GBV referral pathways.
  • Schools across the Northwest and Southwest Regions, for bursary, WASH and menstrual health programming.
  • Foundations and women-specific funds, including those that fund women-led organisations directly.
  • Cameroonian banks, telecoms and businesses, through corporate social responsibility partnerships.
  • Women-led associations across Africa, for South-South learning exchange.

What a partnership with us involves

Partners are expected to maintain safeguarding and PSEA arrangements of equivalent standard to our own, assessed before a partnership begins. We decline partnerships conditioned on influence over beneficiary selection, staffing or the content of our advocacy, and any that would compromise our independence or expose the communities we serve to risk.

Our registration documents, constitution, governance records, policy suite and financial procedures are available to any prospective partner conducting due diligence.
