Partner With Us
We work through partnership rather than alone — with government ministries, UN agencies, international NGOs, foundations, businesses and local civil society.
Donors increasingly require that programmes be delivered with, and increasingly by, national organisations. We are one — registered in Cameroon, based in the communities we serve, and staffed by people from them. What we offer a partner is reach and trust that cannot be flown in, paired with the governance and reporting discipline institutional funding requires.
How we partner
- MOU-based partnerships with government ministries, district hospitals, schools and local civil society.
- Implementing partner and sub-grantee arrangements with international NGOs and UN agencies.
- Consortium participation with peer associations and NGOs, to access grant opportunities none of us could carry alone.
- Corporate social responsibility partnerships with Cameroonian banks, telecoms and businesses.
- South-South learning exchanges with women-led associations elsewhere in Africa.
- Research collaboration with universities and institutes working on gender and development in Cameroon.
What we bring
- Presence in the Northwest and Southwest Regions, from offices in Buea and Bamenda.
- Seven integrated programme pillars, so a partner can work through one or across several.
- A governance structure with financial and programme authority held separately.
- A published policy suite — PSEA, safeguarding, child protection, anti-fraud, data protection — adopted from the outset.
- A MEAL framework with indicators, baselines and targets, and data disaggregated by sex, age, disability and location.
- A Community Accountability and Reporting Mechanism giving communities a confidential channel.
- A founder with a substantial public platform, used deliberately to move issues into national conversation.
What we expect of partners
Partners are expected to maintain safeguarding and PSEA arrangements of an equivalent standard to our own, and safeguarding capacity is assessed before a partnership begins. Failure to act on a credible safeguarding concern is grounds for termination. We also decline partnerships that would compromise our independence, condition support on influence over beneficiary selection, or expose the communities we serve to risk.
Due diligence
We are ready for it. Our registration documents, constitution, governance records, policy suite and financial procedures are available to any prospective partner conducting an assessment. Where a capacity assessment identifies a gap, we would rather know and close it than argue about it — the assessment itself is a useful roadmap for a young organisation.
Starting a conversation
Write to info@womenslight.org with what you are working on and what you are looking for in a partner. We would rather begin with a specific problem than an exchange of capability statements.
