Mission, Vision & Values

What we are working towards, and the principles that govern how we work — as adopted in our founding organisational framework.

Our mission

To empower women, girls and underprivileged communities across Cameroon through integrated, community-led programmes in gender-based violence prevention and response, girl-child education, WASH, environmental protection and sustainable livelihoods — ensuring that every woman and girl can live with dignity, safety and opportunity.

Our mission is pursued in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 13 and 16.

Our vision

A Cameroon where every woman and girl — regardless of geography, social status or background — lives with dignity, enjoys access to quality education and healthcare, is free from violence, and has the tools to build a self-sustaining and fulfilling future.

Our core values

Seven values govern how the Foundation works. They are not aspirational statements; each one has a practical consequence for how programmes are designed and how decisions are made.

Dignity

Every individual is treated with full respect and humanity, without discrimination. In practice this means survivor-centred processes in which the person decides what happens next, and services designed so that using them costs nobody their standing in their community.

Inclusion

Priority is given to the most marginalised: underprivileged girls, single mothers, internally displaced persons, persons with disabilities and rural women. Where a choice must be made about who a programme reaches first, this value settles it.

Accountability

We are transparent, results-focused and answerable to the communities we serve. That means published reports and audited accounts, and a confidential mechanism through which communities can raise concerns about us specifically.

Resilience

Programmes build the long-term capacity of communities to withstand and recover from hardship. A water point comes with a trained committee and a maintenance route; a savings group comes with the financial literacy to outlast our involvement.

Integrity

We uphold the highest ethical standards in governance, finance and programming. Financial and programme authority are held separately so that no single person both commits and approves expenditure.

Community ownership

All interventions are designed and implemented with communities, not merely for them. Participatory needs assessments set programme priorities, and communities see findings about themselves before external audiences do.

Sustainability

We seek lasting change rooted in local systems, not dependency. The test we apply is simple: would this still be working two years after our funding ends?
