Announcements, partnerships, programme milestones and organisational developments.
This page carries announcements, partnership developments, programme milestones and organisational news from Women's Light Foundation. It is updated as things actually happen rather than on a publishing schedule.
What appears here
Partnership agreements and formal engagements with government bodies, UN agencies, international NGOs and local civil society.
Programme milestones — the opening of a safe space, the completion of a water point, the close of a bursary round.
Organisational developments, including governance decisions taken at the General Assembly.
Publication announcements for annual reports, audited financial statements and research.
Recruitment news where a significant post is filled or a new programme team is formed.
How we report figures
Where an announcement carries a number, we state what the number measures. Reach and impact are reported separately: the count of people who attended a session is an activity measure, not evidence that anything changed. Where we cite prevalence data, it is attributed to its source and kept distinct from our own service data, because conflating the two produces false conclusions in both directions.
For journalists
You may quote and link to anything published here with attribution. For interviews, programme documentation, high-resolution imagery or comment on a story you are working on, contact contact@womenslight.org. We respond in English or French.
Why this page may look short
Women's Light Foundation is a young organisation and we publish announcements when something has actually happened, rather than generating news to fill a page. A sparse news archive from a new association is honest; a full one usually is not.
The volume here will grow as programmes reach milestones that are worth announcing — the first safe space opening, the first bursary round completing, the first audited accounts being published, the first formal partnership agreement being signed.
Corrections
If we publish something inaccurate, we correct it and say what changed rather than editing quietly. Corrections are noted on the article itself. If you spot an error in anything we have published, write to contact@womenslight.org.
