Women's Light Foundation was invited by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, to a conversation about possible collaboration, and about using the Women's Light platform to extend support to more women and girls across Cameroon.

The Foundation was represented by its Founder and President, Ngong Sonedita Nyeah.

Why collaboration matters for a national organisation

Donors increasingly require that programmes be delivered with, and increasingly by, national organisations. What a Cameroonian association offers a partner is reach and community trust that cannot be flown in — paired, in our case, with the governance and reporting discipline institutional funding requires.

Our organisational framework commits us to MOU-based partnerships with government ministries, health facilities, schools and local civil society, and to consortium-building with peer organisations to access grant opportunities none of us could carry alone.

The platform as programme infrastructure

The Foundation was created in part to convert a substantial public following into organised, accountable action. That platform is treated as programme infrastructure rather than as marketing: it is how issues affecting women and girls move from local concern into national conversation, and it is one of the specific assets we bring to a partnership.

What we ask of partners

Partners are expected to maintain safeguarding and PSEA arrangements of a standard equivalent to our own, assessed before a partnership begins. We decline partnerships conditioned on influence over beneficiary selection, staffing or the content of our advocacy.
