Spending Christmas with children at the orphanage
Our founder and team spent Christmas with children at a local orphanage, sharing gifts, food and time with young people who are too often forgotten during the holidays.
An orphanage visit in Cameroon: founder and team spent Christmas with children at a local orphanage, bringing gifts and spending the day with young people who would otherwise have passed the holiday without visitors.
The visit is one of a series to children in residential care, which have continued alongside the Foundation's formal programming.

Work that predates the Foundation
Visits of this kind began before Women's Light Foundation existed as a registered association. Our founder was already participating in grassroots outreach — supporting vulnerable families, single mothers, children and hospital patients, and using her online audience to mobilise attention and support.
That work was personal, immediate, and limited by what one person could reach. Establishing the Foundation in 2025 was a decision to give it structure: a registered association with a constitution, an elected bureau, separated financial authority and published accounts.
Why we still do it
Emergency assistance responds to an immediate need; it does not by itself produce lasting progress. Our programme pillars exist because keeping girls in school, equipping young people with income-generating skills and building referral pathways for survivors of violence are what change a household's trajectory.
But a child in residential care at Christmas has an immediate need, and meeting it is not a lesser thing. Humanitarian support for vulnerable and crisis-affected communities remains part of what the Foundation does, alongside the programme work.
